Selma Blair, best known for her roles in Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions, was arrested after allegedly “punching and biting” flight attendants over the weekend
Selma Blair was arrested after allegedly “punching and biting” flight attendants.
The actress, 54, best known for her roles in Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions, was aboard a Delta Airlines flight heading to John F. Kennedy International Airport from LAX on Sunday.
It’s thought that the Hollywood star also tried to open the aircraft door and was arrested shortly after arrival, before being taken to a hospital for evaluation, where she is said to be at currently.
A rep for the actress told TMZ: “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
New York Port Authority said in a statement to The Mirror: “On Sunday October 11 at approximately 11pm at JFK Airport, PAPD responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines flight 938 which was parked at the gate after arrival from LAX. Suspect was identified as Selma Blair, a 54 year-old woman.
“She was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Two flight attendants also reported injuries, and one was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.” The NYPA also confirmed that the FBI is currently investigating this incident.
Furthermore, a representatives for Delta Air Lines said: “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”
In audio of the alleged incident, a woman, thought to be Selma, can be heard screaming “No!” over and over again as a loud alarm goes off in the background.
The woman can be heard shrieking “please no” along with a string of other inaudible words but then the voice quietly fades out.
Selma had been updating her fans on social media amid her busy schedule, writing on X just before the alleged incident took place: “From LA to New Mexico to La to nyc to LA Scout and I have been busy. I miss you.”
The actress found herself in a similar situation in 2016, and had to be taken off an aeroplane on a stretcher after having a mid-flight meltdown then. At the time, she released a statement saying she was deeply sorry about the incident.
“I made a big mistake yesterday,” she told Vanity Fair. “After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.”
The Mirror has contacted Selma’s representatives for comment.
