Jets receiver Tim Patrick has high expectations for the Jets offense.
Patrick, who is in his first year with Gang Green, returned from injured reserve to play his first game for the Jets on Sunday in the win over the Browns. He was asked on Monday how good the Jets offense can be once they are fully healthy.
“We could be the best, honestly. We could be the best,” Patrick said. “We have so much talent, it’s insane.”
The Jets are currently missing running back Breece Hall and wide receivers Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr. There’s a chance some or all of them could return this week. But the Jets lost tight end Kenyon Sadiq to a concussion on Sunday. We’ll know more about all of their statuses as the week goes on.
Patrick said this is the most talented team he has been on.
“I’ve never been around this much talent,” Patrick said. “It’s going to be scary because there’s just so many different ways we can win. It’s just making sure for that week we know which way we need to win the game because we have so much talent. Sometimes Garrett [Wilson’s] not going to get 10 catches. We’re going to have to run the ball 30-plus times. Sometimes we might not be able to run the ball. We’re going to have to throw it a little bit more. It’s just knowing the type of game before we get into it.”
Patrick was on the 2024 Lions that went 15-2 and had Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta, so saying this team is more talented than that one feels crazy.
“I feel like the tight end room here is what separates [this offense] from that offense,” Patrick said. “It’s a little bit more deeper. Obviously, Sam LaPorta is great. Brock [Wright] is great. But from top to bottom, we dress five tight ends every week. Not every team in the NFL can do that. Any week any one of those guys could be the guy. We have freaking Sadiq. He runs a 4.3 and he’s not from this planet. It’s one of those things — our tight end room is going to make us that offense that we’re going to be.”

Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick delivered a vicious hit on Browns rookie WR KC Concepcion in Sunday’s game. The hit knocked Concepcion out of the game with a concussion and drew a personal foul penalty on Fitzpatrick. It has sparked some conversation about whether the hit was dirty.
Here was Aaron Glenn’s take: “Listen, I think Minkah initially tried to go with the shoulder and, just like always, sometimes you see the offensive guy might put their head down, and it’s not like he tried to do it or the offensive guy tried, it’s just some of those things happen in a bang-bang situation, and they’re tough to call, they really are. I do know this, Minkah is not a dirty player, he has never been a dirty player, and listen, Concepcion, I’m glad to see him get up and be able to walk off the field like he did, but no, I don’t think Minkah’s a dirty player at all.”
