RJ Mitte Posted A Story Only A Few Hours Before His Sudden Death At 34, Dropped Last Post 5 Days Ago

34-year-old RJ Mitte left his fans in utter shock with the reports of his sudden passing. The actor, who moved to Hollywood with his family to support his younger sister’s acting aspirations, quickly drew attention with his own acting skills.

Encouraged by talent agencies while in acting school, RJ Mitte began his acting journey with supporting roles. His breakthrough came with Breaking Bad, where he played the role of ‘Walter “Flynn” White Jr.’ Mitte was one of the leads in the drama series, and remained the same through all five seasons.

RJ Mitte passed away at the age of 34

It was on October 12, 2026, when TMZ reported that RJ Mitte passed away. His reps later confirmed the sudden news. While the cause of death has not been revealed yet, it’s reported that the actor died by apparent suicide. However, nothing is confirmed as of now.

For those who don’t know, Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of 3, and it’s a neurological condition that affects movement, muscle tone, and motor skills. He had his fair share of struggles, but he didn’t let that determine him. Rather, he saw it as ‘an opportunity to learn and to grow and to change and to challenge who we are and what we are’.

According to the Brownsville Police Department, when officers arrived at his home at around 12:45 p.m., he was found dead. No further details have been shared so far, except that an investigation into Mitte’s sudden death is ongoing. Confirming the actor’s death, his rep said in a statement:

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte.”

RJ Mitte posted an IG story hours before his passing, and his last post was from 5 days ago

RJ Mitte posted an IG story just hours before his sudden passing. Taking to his IG handle, he reposted a post that was published by indie filmmaker Patrick Rea to promote his upcoming film, One Eye Open. The movie is set to be released on October 16, 2026, and it features RJ Mitte. The story reportedly remained active amid the sudden passing of the actor.

As per another report, Mitte made his last public appearance only 12 days ago. He attended an event to promote another recent project, which has reportedly been released on streaming platforms.

RJ Mitte’s last social media post is from five days ago. In the post, he talked about reviving his role in Breaking Bad. The post was dropped on October 7, 2026, in which Mitte was seen talking with Joe Vulpis on his eponymous podcast.

In the podcast, Mitte said that the story of the ‘White’ family in the drama series might not be over. The actor was seen as the on-screen son of Bryan Cranston’s ‘Walter “Heisenberg” White’ and Anna Gunn’s ‘Skyler White’. Mitte said that the story of Bryan might have ended, but there could have been a lot for other characters. RJ Mitte could be quoted as saying:

“I think there’s still a big step for the White family. There’s always more to be told. But you got to tell it right.”

RJ Mitte further said that he wanted to top any project other than Breaking Bad, which, according to him, had been the ‘hardest’ one. The actor further mentioned that it’s a bar for himself, which he thought was ‘unattainable’. Speaking more about the same, RJ Mitte said:

“I just want to top Breaking Bad, that’s the hardest. That is literally said, a bar for myself as a young man that is kinda unattainable. I tell people, ‘Look, it’s a long way down from the top of the mountain.”

We wish RJ Mitte’s loved ones strength during this tough time.
