1,000 students. Barefoot. 2,000 kg of waste removed from the Yamuna. 🌊
On Gandhi Jayanti, students from 15 Delhi University colleges came together at Kalindi Kunj for the Gen Z Yamuna Jal Chaupal, organised by Green Pencil Foundation with The Better India.
They walked barefoot to the riverbank and got straight to work—segregating wet and dry waste and removing plastic, textile waste and idols from the area.
Together, they removed 2,000 kg of waste from the Yamuna.
But this was about more than a cleanup drive. It was a reminder that civic sense cannot be limited to one day of the year.
The Yamuna is our river. Delhi is our city. Keeping them clean is a shared responsibility—and change begins when we stop waiting for someone else to act.
Would you join a cleanup drive in your city? 🌱
