TV host Anthea Turner has spoken about the ageing process and opting for a non-surgical facelift after exploring the options.
Anthea Turner believes her non-surgical facelift has made her look a decade younger – with bus drivers questioning if she is really old enough for a pensioner’s free pass to travel.
The 66-year-old TV presenter has posed for photos to show off the results of six months worth of facial rejuvenation treatments.
She said: “Since having these aesthetic treatments there have been quite a few occasions when I try to use my Freedom Pass and the bus driver asks, ‘You’re not, are you?’ and I have to persuade them that I am indeed 66-years-old! My goodness me, I can see a difference. I definitely can.”
Former Blue Peter host Anthea signed up for a series of six monthly Focus Dual treatments costing around £500 per hour long session. The system uses the latest micro-needling and radio frequency technology to significantly boost the youthful appearance of skin.
Prior to having the treatments Anthea admitted that she was starting to feel less confident about her appearance and was particularly conscious of loose skin on her neck and jawline.
Anthea revealed: “I think you get to an age where you suddenly stand in front of the mirror and start pulling your skin tighter around your face . I don’t have a girlfriend of mine in my age group who doesn’t do that, and you go, oh, that would look nice.
“I think that up until probably your mid to late 40s, you don’t really notice a huge amount. Everything seems to be going in the right direction, that’s okay. And then all of a sudden, as you approach 50 and beyond, you do notice changes. We are losing collagen. You don’t really notice it for a while and then you really do.”
After doing some research she opted to use Focus Dual at the Bodyvie Clinic in Richmond, London.
They use clinical technologies for non-surgical skin lifting, firming, and tightening of the face and body.
“We decided that the best thing to do was slow and low,” she explained.
“I don’t want to lose the plumpness that I already have in my face, that I’ve held on to. I wanted to primarily look after my skin. If you look after your skin, everything glows, everything looks great, and that’s the approach we went for, and I have got exactly what I wanted.”
Looking back on her journey, she is thrilled she took the plunge and encourages others to commit to a full course of treatment rather than expecting instant miracles from a single session.
“I impress upon my friends, if you’re going to do this, don’t waste your money having three and then go, ‘Oh no, I’m not going to have any more because I don’t think it’s doing anything.’ You do the course. And even when you’ve done the course, it carries on improving.”
She now intends to keep up with treatments every three to four months. Anthea added: “The fact is that when you start using the Focus Dual not only do you get a much tighter jaw, you get a better quality of skin on your neck, and your neck has got very thin skin on it. Keeping my volume was actually very important to me. Tightening the skin on my whole face, it’s made a difference to my cheeks and eyes.”
What is Focus Dual?
Focus Dual offers a unique combination of two of the latest clinical technologies for non-surgical skin lifting, firming, and tightening of the face and body: Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). RF Microneedling delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the skin via ultra-fine needles, creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural healing process and boost collagen and elastin production. This results in improved skin texture, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and a tighter, more youthful appearance with minimal downtime.
