Katie Price has shared a sad update regarding her mum Amy’s health, stating she has just “days” left to live after her Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2017.
Katie Price shared a devastating update on her mum’s failing health, claiming she has “just days” left.
She revealed that her mother is in hospital and said: “My mum’s dying at the moment and I haven’t been able to see her [because] I’ve got a cold… She’s got days. I did promise my mum I’d see her tomorrow.”
Amy, 74, has the lung condition Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The former glamour model revealed the sad update as she took to the stand for the second day during ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s trial.

Hayler, 39, is accused of committing three rapes and a separate sex assault against a 13-year-old girl between June and October 2016, while he was married to the former glamour model. He denies all charges.
Amy was diagnosed with IPF in 2017. According to the NHS, it is “a rare condition where your lungs become scarred, making it harder to breathe”. The health organisation says there’s currently no cure, but treatments are available to help manage the symptoms.
Doctors had warned at the time of diagnosis that Amy had less than five years left to live. Last month, mum-of-five Katie admitted her fears that her terminally ill mother is “taking a turn” for the worse.
Speaking to sister Sophie on their podcast, Katie said the family was taking it “day by day” as they didn’t know what would happen with their mum’s health.
She said: “At the moment, we’re playing it day by day with Mum,” she said. “We’re all juggling, depends how my mum is each day to what we do. Obviously if Mum takes a turn, Mum’s more important than anything.”
Sophie went on to say her sister’s support is “going to go” when her mum passes. She added to her sister that “the person you support is going to…”, trailing off before she had to finish the sentence.
The siblings confirmed they had been spending a lot of time with their mum in hospital of late. Katie said the whole family had been “trying hard” to take care of their mum but that Sophie got extra “brownie points” as she had been going to the hospital more.
She admitted that she would go more, but struggled to as she had to work and take care of her eldest son Harvey, who has Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and septo-optic dysplasia.
Katie went on: “When I’ve got Harv and I haven’t got carers or anything every day – only a Monday and a Friday I get help -and it’s hard to bring Harv. I’ve got to work, and I can’t work if I’ve got Harv. It’s just everything is a right juggle at the minute.”
