Visakhapatnam: A 25-year-old woman died by suicide after facing harassment from her husband and in-laws over additional dowry in the BHPV area of Anakapalli town, Visakhapatnam.
According to reports, Srivani, daughter of Gudu Sadhu Rao, a resident of the BHPV area, married Malla Mukunda Vijay in 2022. The couple have a two-year-old daughter.
Srivani’s husband, Vijay, mother-in-law Satyavathi and father-in-law Paidi Krishna allegedly harassed her for additional dowry over the past few days.
Unable to bear the harassment, Srivani died by suicide by hanging at her residence on Monday night.
Following a complaint, the police registered a case against the three accused. They were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
