“This is an insane misunderstanding. Nothing happened in this shop to justify her scolding our shopkeeper on the way out, but I can let that go. You know, everybody has a bad day. But things changed when she used her platform to attack us.”

At the time, she said she stopped by the store wanting a few things and “literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it.” The singer later pointed out a USD 15,000 tag on the Singing Bird (Molly), seemingly confirming it was for sale. However, when Adam Rubin was asked about the bird, he gave an overcomplicated answer, saying the bird’s price had gone up exponentially since the incident.
Adam Rubin revealed that they talked to the creator of the singing bird, Bliss Kolb, and discussed the matter. He shared that, after much thought, they came to the conclusion that if someone showed serious interest in the bird, they would get them an automaton. However, the price has now increased by 1,000 times. He stated:
“So many people asked about it that we had put a price on it, but we talked to the creator when he came to fix the machine, and if someone showed serious interest, we would reach out to him about getting them an automaton. As you’ve noticed, we’ve raised the price due to popular demand. It now costs USD 15 million.”

Amid the buzz around the Singing Bird, the CCTV video from Art of Play has also gone viral. A source told PEOPLE that Kelly Clarkson is usually very private about her life. However, this incident seemed to have “ticked her off”. Now the security footage from her visit to the store was obtained by Pablo Torre and captures Kelly at the store inquiring about the bird that became the center of the full-blown online feud.
In the video, Kelly Clarkson can be seen entering the store. She immediately starts browsing, picking up various items before approaching the bird in question. She’s then seen talking to an employee and pointing to Molly on the wall. Unfortunately, the footage has no audio, so we can’t make out what they’re discussing. However, minutes later, Kelly is seen waving her hands and speaking emotionally to the worker at the entrance before exiting the shop for good.
As previously reported, Kelly Clarkson took the dispute public over the weekend, saying she visited Art of Play to buy several items, only to feel like an employee assumed she couldn’t afford what she wanted. The singer went on to compare her experience to Julia Roberts getting snubbed in the legendary film Pretty Woman and warned the shop it had just lost a major sale.
