Friends of RuPaul’s Drag Race star Lucian Piane pleaded with the late star to ‘get help’ in the days leading up to his death after a string of alarming social media posts
Lucian Piane’s friends pleaded with him to get help before his tragic death. The RuPaul’s Drag Race star tragically died aged 46 after being hit by a car on Monday.
In the days leading up to his death, the Grammy-nominated composer, who also worked under the pseudonym RevoLucian, shared a string of alarming posts on his public Instagram page.
On his Instagram, which has over 10,000 followers, Kansas City-born Lucian also pleaded for help, telling people to send him “help or a text asap”. In August this year, the star shared a positive update on social media, saying that he had been sober for over a year.

However, in the days leading up to his death, Lucian’s posts became slightly erratic as he wandered the streets sharing images from his camera roll.
One friend, SiriusXM host, Larry Flick, said: “Lucian was my friend. It wasn’t always easy. He was troubled, complicated, and filled with rage that he didn’t know how to manage. Like many, I tried to help until he made it impossible. Guilt right now is real. The way he left this life was tragic and brutal. But I pray rest and peace await him on the other side.”
Another claimed: “It feels like a long time ago but really it wasn’t – Lucian and I used to be quite close. Kind, funny, thoughtful, and as everybody is aware, extremely talented. I don’t really remember when things changed but it was fast and furious, and everyone I know tried their best to help. To find understanding. To try to be kind in the face of his often reckless, hateful behaviour.
“I regret there weren’t more opportunities to not only help, but for him to be able to receive it. I regret I didn’t have more of an understanding around severe mental illness and drug addiction, and what happens when those two often insurmountable issues join hands. I regret that Lucian won’t be here to see the outpouring of love and admiration so many had for him and his work.”
Another person pleaded: “Get help, Lucian.” “This is so sad to see. Lucian please seek help,” commented another, as others encouraged the late star to present himself to the hospital.
One video showed Lucian standing outside a “7-Eleven” store, although it was a different store, explaining that he’d had one cigarette and was waiting for a “good Samaritan” to buy him more, as he kept throwing his head back, which he said was due to tardive dyskinesia. He also denied consuming methamphetamine “I don’t do meth, I’ll take a blood test right now,” he shouted.
The Los Angeles Police Department soon arrived, with Piane confronting the police officers, asking them to stop implying he was on drugs. “Do I look like I’m on drugs?” he asked the camera. The police officer stated that Lucian was on parole and later said he was on probation for robbery, which Lucian denied. “I’m not on probation for robbery, and I’m not on parole at all,” he fumed.
Another video showed Lucian walking through what appeared to be a shopping mall, with security informing him that the property was closed. However, he continued to walk through the building, venturing off into various parts of the property, including an outdoor seating area.
Security reminded him that the building was closed, and Lucian argued that he was “livestreaming”. Security informed him that he risked being ejected from the building should he not cooperate. Despite security’s pleas, Lucian continued arguing and filmed the security guards as they attempted to eject him onto Hollywood Boulevard.
Lucian appeared disoriented as he asked for directions to Loews (Hollywood hotel), before asking the security guard about sex trafficking, leaving the guard completely bewildered. The security guard informed Piane that he risked being arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for trespassing, before he alleged that the security guard was attempting to “corner him” to prevent him from leaving the mall.
Although the security guard was standing several steps back from Lucian, he informed security that he was “too close” before appearing to threaten the guard, claiming his bag had “stuff” in it. Another image, a screenshot of Lucian’s camera roll, showed a sign for lost keys with a phone number.
One video taken at Hollywood High School showed Lucian telling a member of staff that he was Grammy-nominated and had worked with Sia, and that he had heard someone shouting “Help” as he walked by. He alleged that he had called the LAPD to complete a welfare check.
Another alarming video showed Lucian driving his car at night, livestreaming his journey as the camera turned to face him while he hurtled down the road, smoking a cigarette and brushing his teeth. In the video, he said he had found the “source of the giant sex trafficking ring”, alleging that there was “some weird a** s**t in LA.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner listed Lucian’s official cause of death as blunt trauma and the manner of an accident. He was said to have been struck by a vehicle in Glendale, California.
