Following court directions, Jubilee Hills police registered a case of criminal intimidation against Sri Chaitanya Guruji, alias Mereddy Sunil Reddy, for sending objectionable messages to a software engineer’s wife and threatening him during a confrontation.
Police said Sunil Reddy, who runs the Sri Vidya Sadhana Centre on Road No. 71 in Jubilee Hills, was sending inappropriate messages in the name of spiritual practices to women victims.
The complainant, a software engineer and husband of the victim, approached the court alleging harassment of his wife. He submitted evidence of objectionable messages and personal chats that Sunil Reddy was engaging in under the pretext of spiritual practices.
He further stated that, due to the messages, the couple was facing marital problems and he had noticed behavioural changes in his wife after Sunil Reddy began sending them.
When the complainant tried to confront Sunil Reddy, the accused allegedly threatened to “see his end.” Police registered a case under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “The case is under investigation. We will be sending investigation reports to the court as per law,” a police officer said on Wednesday.
