A four-member team of international experts inspected the ongoing construction of the earth-cum-rock-fill dam of the Polavaram irrigation project on Wednesday.
The team comprising Richard Donnelly, Gianfranco Di Cicco, Sean Hinchberger and David Paul reviewed the progress of construction and the implementation of recommendations made during earlier inspections.
The experts and officials from various divisions of the Union ministry of Jal Shakti attended a review meeting chaired by Polavaram Project Authority CEO Sanjeev Vohra. Officials of the AP water resources department, including adviser M. Venkateswara Rao and engineer-in-chief K. Narasimha Murthy, along with representatives of executing agencies, briefed the team on construction progress and implementation of technical recommendations.
The experts and central government officials will continue monitoring the ongoing works until October 17.
