Joe Manganiello’s new memoir, Bloodlines, has once again brought his marital life with his former wife, Sofia Vergara, into the headlines. He made some serious claims about her and their marriage in the book, but the latest reports claim that he reportedly did not feel the need to inform her about it in advance. In fact, he did not share any courtesy text or advance copy until he announced it to the world.
Joe Manganiello did not tell Sofia Vergara about his memoir
According to some sources cited by TMZ, Joe Manganiello never told Sofia Vergara about his memoir because they no longer communicate after their separation. He reportedly believes that he had the right to share his experience and his side of the story with the world without any permission. In fact, he thinks that Sofia should have anticipated the subjects that he would discuss in the book.

Previously, Joe was caught off guard when the actress made some public comments about their relationships in the past, so he wanted to share his side of the story. Needless to say, the memoir has brought new attention to their private struggles.
In Bloodlines, Joe reportedly shares that he felt emotionally isolated while dealing with a serious autoimmune illness. He also alleged that Sofia became distant during his health battle and ridiculed him for his, Chihuahua, Bubbles, whom he adopted in 2019.
According to Joe’s claims, the illness had weakened him and affected his emotional bond with Sofia. However, these are his recollections of their marriage, and the actress has not given any public response to them. For those who don’t know, Joe explained the seriousness of his medical condition and credited the actress for making a significant decision that saved his life.
The actor revealed that during that time he was suffering from a serious intestinal infection that required emergency surgery to remove his large intestine. Although Joe was unconscious, Sofia acted as his next of kin and authorized the operation. Despite criticizing their emotional bond, Joe admitted that she played an important role during that emergency.
Later, Joe revealed their disagreement over having children. Sofia had earlier shared that their marriage partly ended because Joe wanted kids while she did not want to become a mother again at that stage of her life. However, the actor has shared a different perspective.
He claims that they explored in-vitro fertilization and thought about using egg donors during their marriage. However, his prolonged illness changed his views on having kids. Joe feared that he might die and leave Sofia alone to look after their child.
One of the most unexpected revelations Joe made was about visiting a shaman. He shared that to seek answers about his mysterious illness, he contacted a shaman in Cuba. The shaman allegedly suggested that an ex-boyfriend of Sofia had placed a curse on him, and he was also told that they should not have gotten married. In Joe’s words:
“He (Shaman) said, ‘You were never supposed to marry her. I mean, of course you did, but it was never meant to last, and you were never going to have a kid with her like a gay couple with the eggs and the surrogate. You were the big hot guy on TV, and she was the hot girl, and so yeah, that made sense, but she wasn’t right for you. Look at what it did to you, *****ing yourself to death while she parades you around like you’re her little boy. That’s not who you are.”

Meanwhile, Sofia’s son, Manolo, seemed to criticize Joe. He took to his Instagram handle and shared a social media post about “narcissistic men” just before the release of the memoir. Later, Sofia shared it too. Joe was asked about his response to the same, but he refused to comment.
