Marvin Harrison Jr. said there were “a lot of factors” as to why things didn’t work in Arizona, but didn’t want to dwell on the past following the trade that sent him to the Texans over the weekend.
The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, the No. 4 pick in the 2024 draft was expected to be a big part of the Cardinals’ offense, but things never quite panned out in the desert.
When he was asked Wednesday about why that was the case, he didn’t offer much insight.
“I think it’s just a combination of everything,” Harrison said. “I don’t think I can pinpoint one thing. There’s a lot of factors, and I think with any situation, you always want to take accountability for yourself.
“I think those things I’ll keep to myself, truthfully. What I learned in Arizona, I definitely learned a lot. But like I said, I’m really just looking forward.”
Harrison went through his first practice with his new team on Wednesday and he will play in his first game with the Texans on Sunday when they face the Jaguars in London, head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters.
The third-year receiver had seen his role in the Cardinals offense diminish over time and had just five catches in four games this season.

He pushed back against questions about his commitment.
“Everybody has their own opinions,” Harrison said. “I know who I am as a player, I know who I am as a person. However people want to label or think of me, that’s their opinions.”
Harrison said he is hoping his connection with C.J. Stroud — the pair played together at Ohio State in 2021 and 2022 – will help at the NFL level.
“I think the team as a whole it’s a great situation for me,” Harrison explained. “Being with a quarterback that you have rapport with and had success with in the past is always great too.”
