Actress Hilary Swank shared the news that she is pregnant at 52 on Instagram alongside her husband, Philip Schneider. They shared a family clip featuring a glowing stick-figure baby over her stomach
American actress and film producer Hilary Swank has announced that she is pregnant with her third child at the age of 52. The Million Dollar Baby star shared the news on Instagram alongside her husband, Philip Schneider, 53, posting a family clip featuring a glowing stick-figure baby over her stomach.
She captioned the post: “A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December.” The couple previously welcomed twins, Aya and Ohm, back in 2023. The announcement comes after Hilaryopened up about becoming a mother later in life in an interview with Women’s Health UK back in April.
The star became at first-time mum to her twins at 48 after freezing her eggs when she was 37. Revealing why this was the ‘right time’ for her, she said: “I would have had kids earlier. I’m not saying I actively waited until 47.
“But that was a magical time in my life, when it all culminated. It was the right time for a myriad of reasons.”
She added: “I’m a very different parent than I would’ve been, even in my early forties. I’m much more patient. I’m much more understanding.
“I am much more, I think, interested in a different way than I would’ve been. I’m really interested in their brains. I am fascinated about what makes them tick.
“And I have my career that’s already established, so I’m not divided. I’m able to really sink in and be present with them and be a hands-on parent.”
Despite now being in her fifties, Hilary said she has ‘more job offers than ever before’.
She added: “Most people might be like, ‘Aren’t you worried that you’re now 50 and there’s not a lot of jobs?’ I’m like, ‘No, I have more offers now than I’ve ever had.’ It’s an exciting time.”
If she was to give advice to her younger self, Hilary said she would tell her to ‘breathe’ and ‘really ruminate on the choices that you’re making every day and make sure what is happening is what you want’.
She also said now she’s older, she doesn’t have time for ‘falsehood’ in friendships and likes friends who can be ‘honest’ and ‘real’ with her.
Fans were quick to congratulate Hilary on her latest pregnancy, as one wrote: “You’re glowing, Hilary! Congratulations to you and your family.”
Another added: “The cutest announcement video. Congrats!”
While a third chimed in: “How beautiful! What a fun announcement.”
