To host her fourth annual Rare Impact Fund benefit gala in Los Angeles, Rare Beauty founder Selena Gomez chose what may just be the most classic fall manicure shade of all time. You know, the one you automatically reach for as soon as that first crisp air hits your skin, when the craving for sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes and cozy candles is simply too strong to resist: rich, deep cranberry red. You see it and exhale, wrapped in the warmth of October.
For the event, which raises money for youth mental health initiatives, Gomez chose a strapless beaded Prada dress and mimicked the same ruby color on her nails. She turned to her longtime nail artist Tom Bachik, who applied a few coats of Olive + June’s Gel Polish in SC, a lush bordeaux, to her medium-length nails, then added the brand’s top coat for extra shine. Though it’s been super hot in Los Angeles recently, the “ruby red Rare” color brought all the autumnal vibes to the sunny red carpet.
