NALGONDA: A daily-wage worker has died while another was injured when an oxygen cylinder exploded at Oxynow Medical and Industrial Gasses Company in TIF MSME Green Industrial Park at Dandumalkapuram in Choutuppal mandal of Yadadri-Bhongir district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as K. Manish Kumar, 21, a native of Bihar. The injured worker, Mathari Hariprasad, belongs to Dandumalkapuram.
According to the police, the cylinder exploded due to high pressure while the workers were refilling it with oxygen gas. Manish Kumar died on the spot. Pieces of the cylinder were scattered over a radius of 200 metres within the company premises.
Hariprasad was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad. His condition was reported to be stable.
The blast-like sound caused panic among employees working in the industrial park.
Choutuppal police registered a case and are investigating.
