Preview for Buffalo Bills @ Las Vegas Raiders

The Buffalo Bills (4-1) are flying. On Sunday they take one of the NFL’s most explosive offences to Allegiant Stadium to face a Las Vegas Raiders (3-2) team who started the season brilliantly but have lost their way over the past fortnight.

Buffalo arrive on the back of one of the games of the season. They beat the Los Angeles Rams in overtime on Monday Night Football, overcoming an injury to right tackle Spencer Brown that looked like it might derail them. That made it 4-1 under head coach Joe Brady.

Josh Allen and the Bills are scoring for fun. After five weeks, Buffalo were the joint-highest scorers in the league alongside the Detroit Lions, with 164 points. With the bye week around the corner, they will want to head into it on a high.

The Raiders’ season has been a tale of two halves so far. Klint Kubiak, who arrived from the Seattle Seahawks in February to replace Pete Carroll, got off to a dream start, with three straight wins giving the Raiders their first 3-0 start since 2021. To put that in context, they won only three games in the whole of last season.

The last two weeks have brought them back down to earth. They have lost back-to-back games, and last Sunday’s 45-17 hammering at New England was a real embarrassment. There had been some speculation about rookie Fernando Mendoza after that performance, but Kubiak has made it clear that Kirk Cousins remains his starting quarterback.

CBS clearly think this one is worth watching. They have put their top broadcast team of Jim Nantz, J.J. Watt and Tracy Wolfson on the game.
