The first quarter of the derby in Sabac was evenly contested, with both teams scoring twice. Jadran began to dictate the pace in the second quarter and built a 6:3 lead towards the end of the first half. However, Šabac reduced the deficit late in the period to make it 6:4.
Early in the second half, Jadran centre Lukas Durik restored the three-goal advantage with a strike for 7:4, but the visitors failed to maintain control of the match. Sabac’s defense, commanded by goalkeeper Darko Djurovic, a former Jadran goalie, performed excellently, while the hosts also found their rhythm in attack. Šabac gradually erased the deficit, and the teams were level at 7:7 heading into the final quarter.
In the 26th minute, Aljosa Macic capitalized on a man-up situation to give Šabac an 8:7 lead. Just over five minutes remained, but that proved to be Sabac’s final goal of the match. Jadran also struggled offensively, managing just its third goal of the second half with 1 minute and 45 seconds left on the clock. Durik scored again to level the contest at 9:9.
With 30 seconds remaining, Šabac lost possession in attack, allowing Jadran to launch a counterattack and earn a man-up opportunity. Stefan Vranes made no mistake, scoring the decisive goal 17 seconds before the final whistle to put the visitors ahead 10:9. Šabac could not find an equaliser in its final attack, and all three points went to Herceg Novi.
