KAKINADA: Housing and information and public relations minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said proposals for development works worth ₹155 crore had been submitted to the government to transform Nuzvid into a model municipality.

Participating in a bike rally in Nuzvid on Sunday, the final day of nominations for the municipal elections, the Minister said development works worth ₹88.46 crore were already underway, with some completed. The municipality has a population of around 42,000, he said.
Parthasarathy took part in the rally from his camp office to the municipal office, accompanied by a large number of party cadres, to support alliance candidates, including chairperson nominee Barre Ilayaraja, who filed his nomination on Sunday. The rally featured drums, DJ music, traditional performances, fireworks and yellow flags.
The minister urged alliance candidates to intensify door-to-door campaigning and explain the government’s development and welfare initiatives over the past two and a half years. He asked party workers to ensure victories in every ward with record margins.
He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and education minister N. Lokesh had emphasised that filing nominations was not merely a formality but a commitment to public service.
Stating that the alliance government was committed to public welfare, improved civic infrastructure and transparent administration, Parthasarathy appealed to voters to support alliance candidates for the comprehensive development of the municipality.
AP agriculture mission vice-chairman and Nuzvid constituency observer Marrireddy Srinivasa Reddy, TD youth leader K. Nitin Krishna and others were present.
