The Bills showed why they have arguably the most dangerous offense in football Monday night, but their defense has made virtually every game an adventure.
Buffalo escaped Los Angeles with a wild 37-34 overtime victory, marking the fourth time in five games that a Bills matchup has produced at least 55 points.
Josh Allen and Co. should have little trouble moving the ball against a Raiders defense that has been torched for 75 points over its last two games, including 45 by the Patriots, who were struggling mightily before the Week 5 blowout.
The Bills are particularly tough on the ground, putting up the second-most yards per rushing attempt through Week 5, which isn’t good news for the Raiders, who have been the second-worst team in the league by the same metric.
They took advantage of two of the worst offenses in football – the Dolphins and Chargers – but have been atrocious since, allowing 110 points over their last three contests.
But it won’t be easy for the Bills defense against a surprising Raiders offense.
Las Vegas has enough firepower to contribute to the scoring, especially against a Buffalo secondary that has been among the league’s worst, allowing 380.4 yards through the air, which trails only the Lions.
Kirk Cousins has thrown 12 touchdown passes through five games, while Brock Bowers has been dominant despite nursing a knee injury, with a 110-yard, one-touchdown performance last time out.
