San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel can’t match up against Washington Commanders cornerbacks tonight, since he’s sidelined with a hamstring injury.
But that injury hasn’t stopped Samuel from matching people up online.
Over the weekend, the injured 49ers receiver hosted an e-dating stream on his TikTok account. He played matchmaker and essentially acted as a wingman while two people chatted with each other during an online first date, all of which was broadcast live.
A screenshot of Samuel doing this with two users, a man with the name “Bebo” and a woman with the name “Isabel,” quickly went viral on social media.

To be clear, Samuel wasn’t taking part in the dating. He’s currently in a longterm relationship with Mahogany Jones, and was only playing the part of a matchmaker during the livestream.
Niners fans found it hilarious that Samuel decided to use his free time hosting the online meetups. Perhaps these streams will end once he’s healthy enough to return to the field, or maybe he’ll keep playing cupid as San Francisco’s season progresses regardless of his injury status.
