Sharon Osbourne has never shied away from discussing her cosmetic procedures and the regrets that came along the way. The television personality and wife of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has been no stranger to botched procedures, but perhaps one of her biggest regrets came in 2021, when a facelift surgery went horribly wrong.
After years of undergoing multiple treatments to refresh her appearance, Sharon has spoken openly about why her final facelift left her frightened of going under the knife again.
Sharon Osbourne recalled looking like a ‘cyclops’ after getting a facelift in 2021
In an interview with the Times of London, Sharon Osbourne described the outcome of her 2021 facelift and how much it traumatized her. The former America’s Got Talent judge said the procedure left her features uneven; her eyes appeared misaligned and her mouth was pulled into an unnatural position.
“That was the worst thing that I ever did,” Sharon said of the operation. She recalled how she had to get additional procedures done to fix it. She shared:
“I looked like Cyclops. I had one eye here and one eye there and my mouth was all skewwhiff, and then I had to wait for that to heal before I could go back and have it corrected.”

Osbourne explained that she had to allow time for the affected areas to heal before undergoing corrective treatment. The experience was especially upsetting because she had chosen the procedure for cosmetic reasons. While she hoped to improve her appearance, she was left to deal with prolonged recovery and additional surgery.
In an earlier account of her botched facelift, Sharon compared the results to ‘Quasimodo’, the character from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She said, “I looked like Quasimodo, because I had one eye here, one eye there. It was wicked.”
Sharon had previously discussed other cosmetic procedures, but the 2021 facelift became a turning point that changed her attitude toward plastic surgery. She once acknowledged that she changed her appearance out of vanity and a desire to look younger.
Speaking to the Times of London, Osbourne admitted that she was driven by “Vanity. Ego. ‘Oh, you look great for your age.'” She added, “But I know what I really look like. When I look in the mirror, I see the real me.”
Sharon Osbourne’s long history with cosmetic procedures and weight loss medications
Sharon has spoken about cosmetic procedures she has undergone for decades. In her 2013 autobiography, Unbreakable, she reflected on the emotional cost of repeatedly altering her appearance. She wrote, “Every time you go under the knife for vanity, you are slicing off yet more of your self-worth.”
Her history of cosmetic procedures includes facelifts, Botox, fillers, procedures on her arms and legs, and a tummy tuck following weight-loss surgery. She also underwent breast implant removal after experiencing a complication involving a leaking implant. A genetic test that indicated an increased risk of breast cancer later contributed to her decision to undergo a preventive double mastectomy.

In 2019, Osbourne spoke about another facelift on The Talk, explaining that the procedure lifted her neck and jowls. At the time, she said she felt refreshed, although she was still experiencing some pain. And the recovery was anything but smooth. During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show later that year, Sharon recalled that her mouth felt numb and had been pulled upward on one side. She said:
“I had this thing where they lifted up my mouth and then for the first week I couldn’t feel my mouth. I can hardly feel my mouth now, to be honest with you. I couldn’t find my mouth. It was numb, and it was up on one side, and I looked like Elvis.”
Her family, including husband Ozzy Osbourne, reportedly joked about the expression, which she said made her appear to be snarling even when she was not. She recalled, “All the kids and Ozzy are going, ‘Why are you snarling at me?’ and I’m like, ‘I’m not snarling. I’m not doing anything!'”
By 2023, Sharon’s attitude towards cosmetic procedures had changed. She publicly acknowledged she had gone too far with her most recent facelift and did not want another. She has also discussed her substantial weight loss after using Ozempic, a medication originally developed to treat Type 2 diabetes that is also prescribed for weight management in certain circumstances. She said the weight loss went further than she intended and that she struggled to regain weight.

After years of openly discussing procedures she once pursued in the name of vanity, the television personality has said she is done with chasing a particular look and accepts ageing as it comes. Now 74, she is more confident about embracing her advancing age.
