German airline Lufthansa is adding a number of new routes to its schedule in 2027, with destinations ranging from the Americas to Asia.

As winter approaches, you may already be considering next year’s holiday plans.

If you’re looking for inspiration, we have news for you: Lufthansa and its sister operators have announced a number of new routes and increased connections that are now available to book.

With 10 new intercontinental connections, including non-stop connections to Edmonton in Canada and Nagoya in Japan, Lufthansa says it is launching the largest expansion of operations since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

New flights from Frankfurt

Lufthansa will launch three weekly direct flights between Frankfurt Airport and Columbus, Ohio, from May 5th, 2027.

Flights are set to operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with Lufthansa noting it is the first European airline to offer a nonstop connection to Columbus and that the connection will serve a “high proportion of business travellers”.

From March 28th next year, Lufthansa will also introduce a daily service between Frankfurt and Tokyo-Narita. The new route runs alongside the airline’s existing daily flights to Tokyo-Haneda from Frankfurt and Munich.

Additionally, flights between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur which were recently added to the schedule, will continue throughout summer 2027, with a daily service.

Connections to Dubrovnik in Croatia will also return, with planned daily flights from Frankfurt.

New flights from Munich

From August 3rd, 2027, Lufthansa will launch three weekly direct flights between Munich and Phoenix, Arizona, with services running on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“The state capital of Arizona is one of the fastest-growing regions in the USA and has not yet had a direct connection to any Lufthansa Group hub,” said the airline.

Lufthansa will also add a second seasonal daily service between Munich and Delhi, India, from March 28th.

Additional flights are planned on routes to Bangalore, Chicago, São Paulo and Singapore.

Discover Airlines adds Edmonton in Canada

The Lufthansa Group’s Discover Airlines is launching its first non-stop route between Frankfurt and Edmonton, Canada, on June 1st, 2027.

The airline will operate three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Edmonton will become its third Canadian destination, alongside Calgary and Halifax.

Discover Airlines says it is the only airline offering non-stop flights between Germany and Edmonton.

The carrier is also increasing its services to Windhoek, Namibia. Two additional flights from Munich will bring the total to five weekly departures in summer 2027.
