A while ago, Sahara Ray’s younger sister, Ruby Ray, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late sibling. She shared a carousel of throwback pictures, from the time they were kids to when they got older. Alongside the photos, Ruby penned a long note for her ‘beautiful big sister, Sahara.’
Ruby claimed that the model was one of the most vivacious, intelligent, and beautiful souls that she knew. Calling her a force of nature, Ruby claimed that Sahara shone so brightly that after her death, the world feels dimmer. In her words:
“The most vivacious, intelligent, hilarious, kind, empathetic, and breathtakingly beautiful soul. A force of nature. A light so bright that this world feels impossibly dimmer without her in it.”
Ruby wrote that Sahara “has moved from this life to another.” And now, she is left trying to comprehend how someone like her sister, who was so full of life, can no longer be in this world. She added:
“From the moment I entered this world, I looked up to her. In my eyes, she was everything extraordinary about being human. She was magic, she was warmth, she was laughter, she was love. She was, to me, the most incredible person to ever walk this earth.”
Ruby called it cruel to love someone so deeply and, after Sahara’s passing, have nowhere left for that love to go. The same was true for the memories that she had left behind, but with no more tomorrows together.
Ruby revealed that Sahara Ray’s death has left her completely heartbroken, and she doesn’t know if any language is capable of holding the weight of it. She said that she doesn’t know how to make sense of a world that keeps turning when hers feels like it has stopped following Sarah’s unexpected passing. Ruby wrote:
“God, grief hurts. It is the most excruciating, all-consuming pain I have ever been doused in. A pain that reaches into the deepest parts of your soul, into places you never knew existed, and leaves an emptiness that no words could ever begin to describe.”
Sahara’s sister realized that beneath all the grief, heartbreak, and disbelief that she is currently feeling, there lies a devastating truth. She said that she still wants more time, laughter, and conversations with her big sister. Ruby ended her heartbreaking note by promising that she will spend the rest of her life loving Sahara.
Sahara Ray passed away at 34
Sahara Ray, who was linked romantically to Justin Bieber in 2016, passed away at the age of 34. Sahara reportedly struggled with alcohol addiction and substance abuse. Two years before her death, in 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. For the unversed, it is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that causes muscle weakness. The model developed the disorder after being struck by a drunk driver in April 2024, which left her partially paralyzed.
Many believed that this condition caused Sahara’s death, although reports later revealed that she passed away from a suspected fentanyl overdose on October 18, 2026. After she overdosed, the model was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital where she was put on life support. Sahara died after her family had to make the devastating decision to take her off life support.
