Riders and foxhounds from The East Devon Hunt are seen prior to taking part in a trail hunt on National Trail Hunting Day, on October 17, 2026 in Honiton, England. Since the Hunting Act 2004 came into force in 2005, most traditional fox hunts in England and Wales have adopted trail hunting, a practice in which hounds are intended to follow a pre-laid scent rather than a live animal.Credit:Finnbarr Webster/Getty Images
