A man was spotted sitting down at a Miley Cyrus performance – minding his own business – when people began to realise who it was and couldn’t believe their eyes
A man sitting down at a concert is often not really a sight to behold. They’re just minding their own business, trying to enjoy the music and sing along to the tunes they know and love.
However, at the Hollywood Bowl, one seated man was drawing a lot of attention, and at first, people couldn’t figure out why they recognised him so much. As he went about his business, during Miley Cyrus‘ performance, which also included her incredibly emotional tribute to godmother Dolly Parton, he watched intently, even standing up at one point, which may have given the game away as to who he was.

Who did people spot?
It was none other than the Imagine Dragons frontman, Dan Reynolds, whose band are known for hits such as Believer, Radioactive, and On Top of the World.
In the comments of the video, posted by @hollywoodhunter007, people said Dan should’ve “got on stage” with Miley because he’d be able to “keep up with her vocally”.
Others said he seemed like he was “on a date”, so looked uncomfortable because he knew he was being photographed.
He was actually on a date with Chantel Jeffries, an American DJ and model, who is best known for her association with Canadian singer Justin Bieber.
Dan, 39, recently split up with his girlfriend of four years, Minka Kelly, 46, who posted a cryptic message on social media about moving on from a soulmate after he was spotted out with Chantal.
“Oh, wow, he was with Minka at the US Open…,” a fan pointed out, which was only last month. Another speculated: “No, they weren’t together then already.”
Somebody else said: “It seems he was invited, as is often the case with celebrities, and politely accepted. But his bored expression gives him away.” But many fans defended him and said he didn’t look “bored,” just a bit awkward.
A man jumped to his defence, penning: “Dan is like this watching any other act. I remember when ID opened for Neon Trees years ago in Vegas, he stood at the back with a bunch of us and just watched Neon Trees play with the same expression on his face. Pretty sure he’s always just taking notes.”
Dan Reynolds’ career so far
Dan founded Imagine Dragons in 2008 while he attended Brigham Young University. They found global fame in 2012 with their album Night Visions, which had the hit Radioactive on it, which won a Grammy and set chart records.
Over the following decade, Dan established himself as a dominant force in modern rock and pop songwriting. As the primary lyricist and frontman, he led Imagine Dragons through a string of record-breaking albums, including Smoke + Mirrors, Evolve, Origins, Mercury Acts 1 & 2, and LOOM.
Outside of music, he founded the LOVELOUD Festival in 2017, a major annual event dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth and promoting acceptance within religious communities.
