Eberechi Eze put Arsenal 1-0 ahead against Bayern Munich in their Champions League clash at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
The England international struck to give Mikel Arteta’s side the advantage in Germany as the Gunners looked to maintain their perfect start to the league phase.
Eze had started the contest on the bench but was called into action early after Bukayo Saka suffered an injury, forcing Arteta into a change.
Arsenal arrived in Munich having won both of their opening Champions League fixtures, beating Napoli 1-0 before seeing off Lille 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
Eze was also on the scoresheet against Lille, finishing from Saka’s cut-back as Arsenal scored three times in the space of seven second-half minutes.
The Gunners were looking to extend their impressive run in Europe against a Bayern side featuring former Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
