Hyderabad: Following the conclusion of the nine-day Dasara festival, there has been a significant surge in traffic on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway as motorists head back toward the city.
A two-kilometer-long traffic jam has formed, stretching from Gundrapalli to the Panthangi Toll Plaza. Due to the heavy congestion at the Panthangi Toll Plaza, nine toll booths have been opened for traffic heading towards Hyderabad.
A large number of people headed to their hometown in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh last week to celebrate the festival.
