Davina McCall’s husband Michael Douglas has said he’s planning to get a facelift after ‘ageing 10 years’ amid the TV presenter’s health battles against a brain tumour and breast cancer

Davina McCall‘s husband Michael Douglas has said he feels he has “aged 10 years,” admitting the strain of her recent health issues have left him wanting a facelift.

The celebrity hairdresser, 53, said he thought his look had “started to really deteriorate” after years of supporting Davina and the stress of running his own business.

“In the last three years, I have aged about 10 years and I can really see it. Davina had a brain tumour, she had breast cancer, I’ve been fully running a business for the last four years, in an intense way.

“And I can see that it’s really taking its toll in my face. It’s started to really deteriorate. Once the business journey’s over, and me and Davina start to wind down a bit, I will get a little lower facelift.”

Pulling at the skin over his eyelids, Michael joked “This is almost like a labia. Look at that. So yeah, we’ll probably do a little cut round [my eyes] and then I’ll start to look after my skin a bit,” he told fashion designer Amanda Wakeley on her Style DNA podcast.

Michael also shared that he and Davina were both looking to slow down and step back a little from work in the future. “At some point, we’ll probably pull back a little bit from that in five, ten years’ time or something, and then just kind of rediscover ourselves a little bit,” he said.

“And that will be a kind of self-makeover that I’ll do of myself, I think, and it’ll require a haircut, a little facelift, and maybe a rejig of wardrobe or something”.

He added: “I genuinely might go and see a plastic surgeon and just say, OK, what do you think? When would be a good time to do something? What should I do if I was gonna do something?

“A bit like when someone comes to see me for their hair, I’m gonna go and see somebody for my face… [get] a treatment plan. And then if he said, start using hyaluronic acid on your face or whatever, I’d be like, great, let’s go buy some”.

Davina underwent surgery in 2024 to remove a rare but benign brain tumour, that was discovered when she went for a body scan relating to her menopause advocacy.

Last week, Davina revealed she had been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.

“Anyone can get sick and when I had my cancer experience, you just suddenly feel vulnerable in a way you weren’t before…Once you’ve been ill, you think ‘Oh, I thought I was invincible.’”

Davina added: “Heart attacks and cardiovascular disease is rife out there particular in women post menopause. If there’s one takeaway today it’s not to brush things off. Get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, and if something feels wrong, listen to your body.”

The former Big Brother presenter married third husband Michael in an intimate ceremony in December – weeks after her cancery surgery.

She was previously married to shop manager Andrew Legget, who she split with after three months of marriage.
