Television actor Mahhi Vij is part of the reality show Bigg Boss 20. While she has been playing her game wisely, in the latest episode, she had an emotional breakdown. She talked about how difficult it is to be a single mother and also revealed the reason behind not taking alimony or maintenance from her estranged husband, Jay Bhanushali.

Mahhi Vij broke down while talking about her personal life on Bigg Boss 20. She had a fight with Arishfa Khan. It happened after Gullu, Kanika, and Mahhi decided to compromise Arishfa’s lifeline. In anger, Arishfa threw water on their bed, which led to a more heated argument.
During the confrontation, Mahhi questioned Arishfa’s upbringing, which left the influencer with no answer. After this, she broke down in front of Uditi Singh and questioned why Mahhi had to bring her mother into the conversation. Mahhi realised that she went too far by making the remark. She apologized to her, but Arishfa didn’t let the remark go and brought up the incident again by calling Mahhi ‘cheap’.
Mahhi was left emotional as she broke down in tears. Speaking to Aasif Khan, Yung, Mahhi revealed that Arishfa is a liar and that she used to talk to her as her daughter, Tara, but she is extremely disrespectful. Mahhi added that she is a single mother and only she knows how she survives every day. Mahhi added that it is her ex-husband Jay who pushed her to step out while her world revolved around her daughter. She said:
“Arishfa is such a liar. I want to speak to her as I talk to my daughter Tara, but she is very disrespectful. That day, I felt bad about what I told her. I am a single mother, and only I know how I survive every day. Jay pushes me to step out; he says I am at home around Tara all the time, and he also offers to look after Tara. But my life revolves around her.”
Mahhi added that she didn’t take a single penny in alimony or even ask for maintenance. She stated that she is on her own merits to secure a better future for her daughter. She further clarified that it is not that Jay does not offer to help, but she cannot ask for money from someone.
Mahhi stated that it is his hard-earned money. Recalling her divorce and alimony proceedings, she stated that she was standing in court and the judge asked her four times to reconsider not taking alimony or even maintenance. She revealed that the judge insisted that she should take it, but she decided not to, as she had seen Jay earn that money.
Mahhi added that Jay would never refuse to give her any money, as his entire locker is open to her, but it is his effort. He worked hard by standing for 16 hours. She said:
“I didn’t take a single penny in alimony or even ask for maintenance. I’m here on my merit, only so that my daughter’s life is secured. It’s not like Jay doesn’t offer to help, but I cannot ask for money from someone. It’s his hard-earned money. When I was standing in court, the judge asked me four times to reconsider not taking alimony or even maintenance. He insisted that I take it. I didn’t take it because Jay earned that money after working very hard. Not that he will refuse me for anything… his entire locker is open for me. But it’s his efforts; he stood for 16 hours at work and earned that.”
