Amanda is a well-known Hollywood actress who grabbed attention as a comedy performer on Nickelodeon in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Following that, she worked on several other projects, including the comedy sketch series All That and The Amanda Show, and became a fan favorite.
The actress then transitioned into television and movies and was seen in Big Fat Liar, What A Girl Wants, She’s the Man, among others. Amanda Bynes was on Ozempic to feel skinny and cute, after her initial goal was to be 100 pounds
Amanda’s weight fluctuated over the years, and she had been quite candid about her struggles. It was in 2024 when Amanda started her weight loss journey, and it was not until 2025 that she made it public that she had been on Ozempic.
She started Ozempic at 173 pounds, and at the same time, an old video resurfaced. The video was from a 2013 interview, where Amanda talked about her goal of being 100 pounds. In a feature titled 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me, Amanda said she moved to New York at 121 pounds, and her goal was to be exactly 100 pounds.

Amanda began her Ozempic journey more than a year ago and shared details about her weight loss on her social media. Sharing a clip of herself, Amanda said she wanted to lose weight and look better in photos, and promised to share updates on her Ozempic journey. She said:
“Oh, I’m going on Ozempic. So excited. I’m 173 now, so I hope to get down to like 130, which would be awesome, so I look better in paparazzi pictures.”
Amanda Bynes reportedly claimed that it was depression that led her to gain 20 pounds before she began her weight loss journey. However, by November 2025, GLP-1 medication helped her to shed 20 pounds.
With the help of the same, the actress continued losing weight, and she shared that she had eventually shifted from pills to injections. According to her, she was trying to ‘lose more weight just to feel skinny and cute’. By the next month, she had lost a total of 30 pounds, bringing her weight to 152 pounds.
Amanda Bynes hated her ‘appearance’ in her last movie, after which she decided to step away from the acting world
In an interview with Paper Magazine, Amanda Bynes revealed that her decision to step away from acting was influenced by her view of her screen presence in her last film. She shared that she was not able to stand her appearance and performance in the movie Easy A, which led her to finally decide to put a full stop to her acting career.

Amanda had a rough phase going on during that time, and she was depressed. In the same interview, she admitted to being on mar**uana and how it affected her brain. She also talked about using different substances during that time, including one named A**erall, after she read an article about the same substance being ‘the new skinny pill.’ According to Amanda:
“I didn’t like my performance. I was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting after seeing it. I was high on mar**uana when I saw that, but for some reason it really started to affect me. I don’t know if it was a drug-induced psychosis or what, but it affected my brain in a different way than it affects other people. It absolutely changed my perception of things.”
