Carrie (2026) made its debut on October 7, 2026, and right out of the gate hit number 1 on Prime Video in over 105 countries worldwide. Under the visionary lens of the filmmaker, Mike Flanagan, the readaptation of the 1976 classic based on Stephen King’s debut horror novel became an instant classic.
Staying true to the strong concept of the story, Mike Flanagan explores the intricacies of the narrative, further exploring the personalities and character development of Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) as she understands the cruelty and pressures of the modern world.
Dating back to 1974, when Stephen King wrote the original novel, now 52 years later, we see a completely different twist to the original story.
Carrie’s story is nowhere close to ending at the prom night, as much more is in store from Mike Flanagan and Stephen King, with newer revelations surfacing and a plethora of shocking moments yet to come.
Speaking about the upcoming sequel, the director, Mike Flanagan, said, “For 50 years, audiences have known and gravitated to Carrie White’s story. Continuing on his words, the creator of the story, Stephen King, added, “I can’t wait for audiences to get to see what’s down the road for Carrie White. Mike Flanagan and I are excited about what comes next. It’s bound to be thrilling,”
