All about Selma Blair’s arrest
Selma Blair has been going through a tough time. On October 11, 2026, she was arrested at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport after an alleged altercation involving crew members on a Delta Air Lines flight. She was then taken to a hospital. The following day, she appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to two charges of second-degree assault, and later was released on bail. Blair’s spokesperson told PEOPLE that she experienced a medical emergency on the flight and did not intend to harm anyone.
For those unaware, Selma was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and since then, the former DWTS contestant has been dealing with many neurological symptoms like issues with her vision, movement, and bladder control. This wasn’t the first time Selma Blair was removed from a flight.
Earlier, in 2016, the actress faced a similar episode aboard a plane when she was traveling with her four-year-old son and her husband, and she began crying out of the blue. Suddenly, Selma began making alarming statements about a man abusing her as she said, “He beats me. He’s going to kill me.” She was reportedly under the influence of alcohol before she made the shocking remarks.
Soon, the pilot alerted authorities, after which Blair was removed from the flight on a stretcher. In an official statement to PEOPLE, Blair’s spokesperson explained that she missed several doses of a prescription medication, such as Nudexta, used to manage severe neurological symptoms related to her multiple sclerosis (MS). The spokesperson also highlighted that the actress has pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition secondary to her MS.
