Rochelle Humes has addressed the rumours of a feud with her Saturdays bandmate Frankie Bridge and explained why a reunion won’t happen yet

Rochelle Humes has addressed the rumours of a feud with her Saturdays bandmate Frankie Bridge.

The pop star, 37, initially found fame alongside Frankie, also 37, as teenagers when they were chosen for S Club Juniors, and then enjoyed even greater success when they joined The Saturdays alongside Mollie King, Vanessa White and Una Healey in the years that followed.

The group were active from 2007 until 2014 and achieved hits such as Ego and Up and Higher, but rumours of a rift between Rochelle and Frankie have long plagued the singers. Now, Rochelle has tackled the hearsay head-on.

She said: “We have the Saturdays WhatsApp group. But actually, me and Frankie speak all the time. It’s so funny that this rumour became such a thing.”

Rochelle, who has also gone on to have a successful career in presenting, with a guest-hosting slot on This Morning, explained that even her children have a good relationship with Loose Women star Frankie and claimed that she is often chatting to her bandmate on WhatsApp.

Speaking to The Sun, she added: “Listen, we just laughed about it, because it’s so far from the truth.” Towards the end of last year, the BBC aired a documentary titled Girlbands Forever featuring stars from many of the pop groups that dominated the charts in the 1990s and 2000s.

But Rochelle claimed she and the rest of The Saturdays were not asked to be a part of it, joking that it was “probably because we didn’t have a big row” at the height of their fame.

However, Rochelle was also quick to rule out the prospects of getting all fired up for a reunion with the group just yet. At the moment, it’s hard enough to get dinner in with all of us. But we all have so much respect for The Saturdays. The Saturdays Megamix is an actual banger, and I’ve got so much love for all of it, so I’ll never say never, because at one point it might happen – just not yet.”

Frankie, who has two kids with former footballer Wayne Bridge, has often said she feels “too old” to be a pop star and told OK! Magazine previously about another rumoured reunion: “I don’t think it will happen.”

Their bandmate Una has previously claimed that she’s made various attempts over the years but struggled to get the girls to commit.

She told Patrick Kielty Live: “They all went very quiet on me. I put it out there to them [in their WhatsApp group chat], when Girls Aloud were back together [in 2023], I was like, ‘we should be doing it again’.

“There was just silence. I thought to myself, ‘tumbleweed’. So I sent a gif of tumbleweed into the group chat and there were still tumbleweeds. They didn’t even do a little laughing emoji back. That was a bit, ‘ouch’. You know?”
