Man Utd 0-2 Bournemouth: Rayan and Tavernier put Cherries ahead at Old Trafford

Manchester United’s poor week continued with a disastrous opening 42 minutes in the Premier League.

Rayan side-footed Bournemouth ahead at Old Trafford before Marcus Tavernier doubled the lead soon after.

The pre-match headlines were made when Michael Carrick benched captain Bruno Fernandes after he became the latest key player to speak out in midweek.

And without him the hosts produced a tepid opening 40 minutes of Premier League action.

Defender Ayden Heaven was booked for a silly two-footed challenge out wide and from the resulting free-kick Brazil forward Rayan slashed in.

Bryan Mbeumo then did have United’s belated first shot on target but not before chants of ‘sacked in the morning’ were aimed at Carrick.

And Tavernier had time to tap in a second before the break.

United are 17th in the Premier League table as it stands. You can follow the game here.
