Victoria Beckham has addressed the “traditional” weekends she tends to enjoy with her family and revealed the surprisingly low-cost item that is a must-have at the dinner table
Victoria Beckham has addressed the “traditional” weekends she tends to enjoy with her family.
The fashion designer is thought to have reached joint billionaire status with her husband David, with whom she has Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 27, Cruz, 21, and 15-year-old Harper, but has now spoken out about their preferences for Sunday lunch together as a family, noting that she tends to favour the less expensive items.
She said: “Yorkshire puddings are a big crowd-pleaser, stuffing, lots of vegetables. No parsnips – it’s one of the only foods my husband does not like and will not eat. We’re very traditional, actually, as a family.

“Things need to be used, things need to be shared. And if I’ve got beautiful glassware, I want everyone to use it. I don’t think you can ever be too precious.”
During a chat with The Sunday Times, the former Spice Girl also revealed that “extra thick” Bisto gravy, which usually costs as little as £1.74 a pot, is a must at the family meal time.
Victoria’s comments about family life come amid a long-standing rift with son Brooklyn, who publicly disowned his family with a bombshell statement in January, almost four years after he tied the knot with heiress Nicola Peltz.
The couple recently enjoyed some time in the glamorous resort of Portofino, where their relationship took off in 1997. A source told new: “This holiday has been like a second honeymoon and about them enjoying time as a couple together.
“It’s taken a lot for them to laugh and joke together again after the Brooklyn saga. Victoria has been devastated by the fallout. Brooklyn broke her heart, and everyone including David has been deeply concerned about her. But she is starting to feel better.”
Last year, Brooklyn instructed his family to contact him only through his lawyers and to stop posting about him on their social media. The move followed his claims that David and Victoria put their “Brand Beckham” above the family, while he also accused his mum of sabotaging his wedding to Nicola.
He alleged that Victoria hijacked a planned dance with his bride and then danced “inappropriately” with him, leaving him “humiliated”. Since then, David and Victoria appear to have extended an olive branch to their son on several occasions, but it seems Brooklyn is not yet ready for reconciliation.
However, the source said that the agonising situation has at least brought one unexpected positive consequence for David and Victoria. “In a strange way, it has brought them closer together, which no one could have predicted. It’s almost as if they’ve fallen in love again, and gone back to a time when things were more simple.”
