The outlet revealed that their case status has been listed as disposed, although as of now the exact date that Amy and Chris’ divorce was finalized has not been made public. This mostly has to do with the fact that divorce cases are sealed in New York.
The news of the duo’s divorce comes days after it was revealed that Amy and Chris were nearing the end of their proceedings when they submitted their proposed divorce judgment to the New York Supreme Court on September 24, 2026.
At the time, it was reported that the judgment had already been signed by the court but was awaiting final processing by the County Clerk. However, the court had finished processing orders related to support for Amy Schumer and Chris’ 7-year-old son, Gene.
Amy had confirmed that she and Chris were separated in December 2025 via an Instagram post. However, she made sure to clarify that things between them had ended on amicable terms and that there was no drama between them, as many speculated. Amy wrote:
“Blah blah blah, Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”
