Recently, Elizabeth Hurley appeared on the Off Air with Jane and Fi podcast. During the conversation, the 61-year-old actress opened up about her relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus, the 65-year-old country singer. She explained that being empty nesters has made her relationship with Billy much easier. Hurley shared that when she dated late Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, there were responsibilities involving his three children and her son, Damian. However, her relationship with Billy is much easier now that the children are grown up.
Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus have a blended family which includes her son, Damian, whom she shares with businessman Steve Bing, and Cyrus’ five children. For the uninitiated, the 65-year-old country singer welcomed three children, Miley, Braison and Noah, whom he shares with ex-wife, Tish, and adopted Tish’s kids, Brandi, and Trace. Hurley said:
“It works very well, I think. Billy and I are empty nesters, and all our children are independent. Damian is the youngest of all of them, and it’s very different. It’s more grown up, and it’s easier.”
During the same conversation, Hurley admitted that while she and Billy enjoy spending more quality time together without their kids, she does miss being a hands-on mommy. She also shared that she and Billy are going to live together in Los Angeles. The actress added that she hopes to bring the country singer over to her home in the English countryside for some quality time there too. Hurley mentioned that she thinks that Billy really loves it. She said:
“I think he really loves it. He never spends any time here, just briefly on tour and stuff, but he spent most of the summer here last year, on and off … he loves it.”

Hurley and Cyrus first met during the filming of Christmas in Paradise, a British comedy. On The Ty Bentli Show, the country singer said whenever he and Hurley appeared in the same scene, they felt a special connection. They crossed paths when the country singer was going through his divorce from his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus. Billy admitted that Hurley made him laugh at a time when he was not feeling happy and did not laugh much.
On the same show, Cyrus explained that although they seemed very different from each other, they surprisingly had many things in common. However, little do people know that despite their initial spark, Cyrus and Hurley did not speak to each other for almost two years. Later, when Billy was going through a difficult period in his life, he received a text message from an unknown number. The message was from Hurley. She became his pillar of strength and said that he had a friend in his life.
Recalling the moment, Cyrus said Hurley was one of the closest people who reached out to him during that difficult phase. The couple made their relationship official on April 20, 2025, by posting a joint Instagram picture. In the snap, Cyrus was seen kissing Hurley on the cheek. They captioned the photo as ‘Happy Easter’ with a red heart emoji.
