Srikakulam: Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds is lashing several parts of Srikakulam district as a severe cyclonic storm remains centred over the west-central Bay of Bengal.
Rainfall has been reported in Srikakulam, Gara, Laveru, Amadalavalasa, Burja, Pathapatnam, L.N. Peta, Narasannapeta, Tekkali and Vajrapukotturu mandals.
Light rain is being recorded in Saravakota, Kaviti, Kanchili and Sompeta mandals.
In view of the weather conditions, a control room has been set up at the Srikakulam district collectorate to coordinate response measures and address public concerns.
