What Got Exposed In The Leak

According to reports, the leaked files include various scripts, a detailed list of cuts instructed by the central board for movies, and financial agreements showing how much money was paid for certain rights for movie releases in India. While most of the affected film titles were feature movies, the movies themselves were not subject to leaking.

The leaks reportedly account for data stolen between the dates of December 2025 and August 2026 were found to be easily accessible on the internet archives. They had since been taken down on October 12, 2026. However, it still remains unclear as to how the documents were obtained from the website.

The leaks initially originated from CBFC’s e-CinePramaan portal. This is an online system that is accessible to filmmakers for the purpose of submitting their official movies or any other documentation for theatrical clearance.

Some of the leaked scripts seemed to have been crafted specifically for the censor board, including details about certain shots and notes explaining dialogue’s and translations.
