Vijayawada: Members of Parliament Ujjwal Raman Singh from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh and Haribhai Patel from Mehsana in Gujarat visited Amaravati on Tuesday to review the development of Andhra Pradesh’s capital city.

The two members of the Lok Sabha also visited the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) headquarters at Rayapudi, where additional commissioners A. Bhargava Teja and Kollabattula Karthik briefed them.

Subsequently, at the Amaravati Integrated Command and Control Centre (AICCC) on the APCRDA premises, Teja and Karthik gave the visiting parliamentarians a detailed presentation on Amaravati’s vision, comprehensive urban planning, and ongoing development works.

They explained the capital’s master plan, major infrastructure projects, technological innovations being adopted for urban development, and future expansion plans.

The MPs received a briefing on how the state government will transform Amaravati into a world-class capital.

Officials highlighted plans to establish globally recognised educational institutions, quantum research centres, and international-standard infrastructure.

The parliamentarians subsequently visited the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre (AQCC) project and the General Administration Department (GAD) and Heads of Departments (HoD) Towers under construction in the Amaravati Government Complex.

Officials explained to them the advanced construction techniques being employed for the iconic towers.

They said the buildings are being constructed using the diagrid structural system and environmentally friendly methods, with the aim of making them the tallest government office buildings in India.

Later, the MPs visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple maintained by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at Venkatapalem.
