ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Folks are suggesting to them that the Milwaukee Brewers, who entered Tuesday’s Game 4 on the cusp of their first World Series title in their 57-year history, must have some special magic going. Others are calling it a miracle. Not sure about any of that, but we can say this for sure: It’s truly amazing what they’re doing.
The team from baseball’s smallest market by far looks like the best team, also by far.
The team from Milwaukee, market No. 41, was ready to aim Tuesday night to become the first team ever to sweep both the league championship series and World Series and just the third to go 11-1 in the postseason, joining the 1999 Yankees and 2005 White Sox.
We’ll assume for now it’s not magic. But they are killing everyone, from the $400M, two-time defending champion, 100-win Dodgers to the 98-win Rays, who we can’t forget swept the big-market Yankees.
