Chennai: Police filed cases against a DMK councillor in Vellore following his remarks that the DMK government should have ‘finished’ Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay during the Karur stampede itself. The police are on the lookout for the councillor Saravanan who is absconding.
The video of his remarks had gone viral and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) functionaries are posting the videos saying that the remarks had revealed the DMK’s plans at Karur.
When former School Education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi was brought to the Puzhal prison, DMK supporters raised slogans against the government and tried to block the police personnel. The DMK councillor was heard saying that the party should have ‘finished’ Joseph Vijay in Karur itself. The video had gone viral on social media leading to comments from TVK supporters that it only revealed what the DMK had planned in Karur. The TVK supporters also said the remarks only proved that the Karur stampede was a conspiracy by the DMK. The police had filed cases against Saravanan and formed three squads to arrest him.
