The wedding invitation of composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran has become a talking point on social media for its elaborate design and luxurious presentation. Following the reported announcement by producer Kalanithi Maran after Jailer 2, videos showcasing the invitation have been widely shared online.
The highlight is a hand-crafted wooden box featuring around 10 to 12 intricate carvings, each requiring hours of detailed hand-painting. Designed to open like a jewellery box, it houses embossed stationery, a vintage-style crest seal, blue silk ribbons and wax seals. The invitation package also includes matching bags and gifts such as dry fruits and chocolates.
According to the designer, Ranjani Iyengar of Pink Whistle Man, considerable effort went into sourcing the materials from different places. Some of the materials are reportedly no longer available, making it difficult to recreate the same design. The team also experimented with various hinges and materials before settling on the final version.
Each invitation box is said to cost between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000, reflecting the craftsmanship and attention to detail involved in its making. The distinctive design has now become a major attraction, with social media users sharing videos of the elaborate wedding invite.
The wedding is reportedly scheduled to take place in Greece on November 10 or 11, 2026, while the reception is expected to be held in Chennai on November 21. Several celebrities have reportedly been invited to the celebrations, which are already generating considerable interest.
