Director Trivikram Srinivas, who has entertained audiences with his witty dialogues, clean comedy and family entertainers, is reportedly stepping into unfamiliar territory with Adarsha Kutumbham. Known for films such as Malliswari, Atharintiki Daaredi and A Aa, the filmmaker is said to be exploring dark humour for the first time in his career.

“Trivikram is taking up a new challenge with this film. He has never really explored this kind of humour before, so it will be interesting to see how he approaches it,” says a source, adding that the director is keen to experiment rather than stick to a formula that has worked for him in the past.

Trivikram has largely built his reputation on stories that combine family emotions, humour and sharp dialogue. A move towards dark comedy could bring out a different side of his storytelling and offer audiences something they have not seen from him before.

The director is also reportedly preparing for another major departure with his proposed film with NTR, said to be titled God of War. The project is expected to be a mythological drama, with NTR reportedly playing Lord Murugan. If it goes ahead as planned, the film would mark a significant change of genre for Trivikram, who has predominantly worked on contemporary dramas and commercial entertainers.

The film is also being planned as a pan-Indian project on a grand scale, with Haarika & Hassine Creations reportedly backing it. For Trivikram, the film could provide an opportunity to take his storytelling to a wider audience while exploring a subject rooted in Indian mythology.

His recent box-office performance has been mixed, with Agnyaathavaasi failing to live up to expectations and Guntur Kaaram delivering a moderate commercial performance. However, the filmmaker continues to remain in demand among leading Telugu stars.

With Adarsha Kutumbham reportedly taking him into dark humour and God of War pointing towards mythology, Trivikram seems keen to test himself with different storytelling styles rather than remain confined to his familiar strengths.
