A South African cattle farmer had his ears hacked off by “exceptionally brutal” robbers who had already shot and stabbed him — and even planned to castrate him, according to reports.

Donovan Marx, 50, was tortured at his home early Wednesday, just five months after President Trump raised fears of a genocide of white South African farmers.

Two barbarians stormed into one of his barns soon after his wife, Louise, left, shooting Marx in the back and stabbing him in the leg to stop him from fleeing.

As he collapsed in a pool of blood, they held him down and hacked off his ears — chopping them into pieces to make it harder for them to be sewn back on later, according to a neighbor and friend.

“They also tried to cut off [Donovan’s] genitals but luckily a worker showed up and the [robbers] then made their getaway taking Donovan’s farm pick-up to escape,” the neighbor wrote online.

The torturous duo fled the scene without taking any of the farmer’s possessions in what the leader of South Africa’s right-wing Freedom Front Plus party called an “exceptionally brutal” attack.

Marx’s family is baffled why the attack was so brutal given it is being investigated as robbery, suggesting there must be more to it.

“Donovan was shot in the shoulder and stabbed in the leg and we don’t know why they tortured him still further at this point,” his brother-in-law Pieter Steyn said.

“He has not been able to speak to us and what happened just goes to show once again how brutal farm attacks are in South Africa and these brutal attacks are out of control.”

“The motive clearly isn’t just to steal something – it goes further than that.”

Authorities have not made any arrests and have not suggested race as a motive.

It happened just five months after President Trump accused South Africa of carrying out a genocide of white farmers during an explosive meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the Oval Office in May.

Trump showed a video of South African left-wing populist Julius Malema – the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters party — chanting “Revolution demands at some point there must be killing.”

Supporters of the communist, black nationalist movement are known for chanting the anti-apartheid anthem “kill the Boer.” In 2022, it was ruled that it’s not a form of hate speech.

Ramaphosa claimed the vile slurs are not “government policy” but Jan Steenhuisen, the country’s white agricultural minister, admitted that South Africa has a “rural safety problem.”

“I don’t think anyone wants to candy-coat that,” he said.

“It requires a lot of effort to get on top of it. It’s going to require more policing resources, it’s gonna require a different strategy to be able to deal with it.”
