After his first marriage to Sheila ended, Patrick married producer Wendy Neuss in 2000, but the marriage was short-lived and ended in 2003. After that, Patrick married singer Sunny Ozell. Sunny and Patrick met in 2008, and after five years of dating, they married in 2013; they were together until death parted them. While his third marriage was peaceful, the actor regretted both of his failed marriages.
Patrick’s first marriage, from which he had two kids, ended because of his affair with Jennifer Hetrick. The actor and Jennifer met while filming Star Trek: The Next Generation, where she played the role of ‘Vash’. In his memoir, Making It So, Patrick talked about the aftermath of his first divorce. He shared that he was on alcohol, while also revealing that he was dependent on sleeping pills. When he decided to stop the pills, the actor struggled to fall asleep, and it also had certain physical effects on him. Eventually, therapy helped the actor. Speaking more about the same, Patrick revealed:
“Sleep became almost impossible. Full-body feeling of panic, my legs sweating profusely, which had never happened before and hasn’t since. I felt my life had lost its way. Sleeping pills, yes. Alcohol, yes. They became a part of my life. But, eventually, I became able to deal with that. Again, that’s the advantage of beautiful therapy – that you can talk to someone.”

While Patrick Stewart’s first marriage lasted for over two decades, his second marriage to Wendy Neuss was just for three years. Apparently, this wedding also ended due to the actor’s extramarital affair. In the 2023 memoir, he candidly talked about the end of his second marriage, stating that he felt ‘stupid and responsible’. He went on to add that, just like the last time, he again cheated on his wife with someone young.
Patrick had an affair with Lisa Dillon during his second marriage, and the actress lashed out at the actor about how he described their five-year relationship in his memoir. However, in his autobiography, Patrick openly admitted that his biggest regret was his two failed marriages. He said:
“I felt stupid and responsible … I had cheated on my wife with a younger woman – again … And just like my affair with Jenny Hetrick, my time with Lisa Dillon would also prove to be relatively short … In a life chockablock with joy and success, my two failed marriages are my greatest regret.”
