It’s unfortunately easy to get duped by AI-generated content these days.

It’s especially unfortunate when the person getting duped does so on a public forum and for something that was best left said in private.

This is what happened to five-time NBA champion Ron Harper.

The father of Spurs star Dylan Harper and Celtics guard Ron Harper Jr. fell victim to an AI-generated video of a woman appearing to be a UCLA volleyball player.

In the video, the AI woman, who goes by Lola Melone, was asked, “What’s your favorite position?”

“Reverse cowgirl,” the AI woman responded, before being told that the question was about volleyball positions, not sex positions.

The clip went viral and caught Harper’s attention, who responded, “You said it…”.

Despite numerous comments telling Harper that he fell for an AI video, his comment (which now has over 820,000 views) is still up on X nearly 16 hours later.

Harper won three of his five championships with the Bulls dynasty in the 1990s, then won his final two with the Lakers in 2000 and 2001.

He was an elite scorer earlier in his career, but his biggest contribution to these two NBA dynasties was his lockdown perimeter defense.

Harper didn’t get duped by his opponents’ moves on the court like he got duped by this AI clip.
