Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department has introduced “Whatsapp Service (no: 9441236448) for setting up of firecracker shops temporarily on the occasion of Diwali.
Explaining about the simple and user-friendly procedure, Andhra Pradesh Fire Services, Director-General, P Venkata Ramana said the applicants were required to furnish certain details to the Whatsapp number apart from applicant name, complete address of the proposed temporary firecracker shop, district name, mandal name, nearest fire station and mobile number.
These details can conveniently be submitted through WhatsApp. After submission of the required details, a payment link will be shown to the applicant in Whatsapp message, enabling payment of the prescribed fee of Rs.500 through UPI or QR code.
Upon successful payment, the temporary firecracker recommendation report will be automatically generated and can be downloaded by the applicant. There is no need for physical visits to fire stations or offices or manual intervention by fire department officers.
He said the entire process is automated, transparent and hassle-free. All prospective temporary firecracker shop owners were requested to avail themselves of this facility from November 1 2026, he said.
