Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh state disaster response and fire services department will introduce a WhatsApp-based facility from November 1 to issue recommendations for temporary firecracker shop permissions. Applicants can obtain the reports without visiting fire stations or government offices.
Prospective temporary firecracker shop owners can apply through WhatsApp number 9441236448 and download their recommendation reports after paying the prescribed fee.
Applicants must send their name, complete address of the proposed shop, district, mandal, nearest fire station and mobile number through WhatsApp.
They will then receive a payment link on the same platform and can pay the prescribed fee of Rs 500 through UPI or QR code. Once the payment is completed, the Temporary Firecracker Recommendation Report will be generated automatically and made available for download.
The department said the process had been automated, eliminating physical visits to fire stations or fire department offices and manual intervention by officials. The initiative is aimed at ensuring transparency and making the issuance of recommendations more convenient.
Information about the facility has been made available at fire stations, district fire offices and regional fire offices across the state. Details are also available on the department’s official website.
Applicants facing technical difficulties can seek round-the-clock assistance from the State Fire Control Room at 9100108101 or the technical support team at 7993987418.
Director-General of the state disaster response and fire services department P. Venkata Ramana urged prospective temporary firecracker shop owners to use the facility from November 1.
